12/22/22 – This is a very nice example of a GI put-together Walther P.38, manufactured in 1945. The parts are mismatched and in the correct “c” serial number block for this variation. Late-war cog hammer. Only one “Eagle 359” proof on the right side of the slide, indicating this gun was never issued. What makes this gun special is the “Eagle 140” proof on the left side of the frame. That means this is a rare FN-made frame. The gun has retained about 93% of its original finish. Most of the wear is on the front strap. There are hints of wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. Some minor spotty wear on the barrel. A couple of very light scratches on the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct WaA706 magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is not functional.
