1/11/21 – This is a very nice example of a Winchester Deluxe Model 1886 lever action rifle, chambered in .33 WCF. Comes with 2/3rd magazine, Lyman sights on front, middle, and rear. See Cody letter that these are specifically called out as all original to the gun. The checkered stock and butt plate are also mentioned in the letter. This show that the gun was made in May of 1916 and that all parts are original configuration – just as it left the factory. Most of the metal is original 95% bluing. While the receiver is about 20% covered with all metal surfaces being clean and smooth (no rust or pitting) . Excellent wood with no sanding; original varnish. Bore is shiny and clean, excellent rifling.
