9/23/20 – This is a Remington Model 1903-A3 Bolt Action Rifle issued to the US military in 1943. The barrel is dated and marked with a flaming bomb cartouche and “P” proof. Overall, the gun is in excellent condition. The metal parts have retained most of their finish. There is minor thinning on the barrel and there are very small dots of oxidation here and there. The stock is excellent but appears to have been heavily sanded. The stock has various markings in front of the floor plate, a “P” proof on the grip, and an “FJA” proof on the left side of the stock. There is some lettering on the right side of the stock, but we cannot make out what it says. The bore has decent rifling, but there is pitting throughout. The gun comes with a green canvas sling. The front bayonet lug appears to be a replacement.
