9/17/20 – This is a rare single decal luftwaffe helmet with Zimmerit Camouflage from WW2. The camo coloring is sparse, but visible on the top of the helmet in small areas. The luftwaffe eagle decal is visible still and rare as there is faint dark green coloring throughout the eagle, along with hints of white. This signifies that the helmet was used during WW2, and at one point during the war was repainted and reissued, as the green color is what Sachische Emailer und Stanzewerke (the manufacturer) used on their re-issued helmets. A very scarce find. The finish is worn with a significant amount of paint missing on the exterior. However there are no dents or major structural issues. The interior shell is maker stamped and sized “64”. Numbered 1429 on the back brim. The leather liner has no notable markings except for a faint “58” ink stamp on the interior leather. The leather is completely in tact with some normal signs of aging. Some interior paint is missing, as shown.
