12/11/19 – This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser Luger that was issued to the German Navy in 1938, and still has one of the original, matching magazines present. The gun has all matching numbers, including the grips. It’s estimated that only 2,400 1938 Mauser Lugers were issued to the Navy, and presumably a small fraction can still be found with one of the matching magazines. The bluing rates at 94-96% with a few minor spots of finish loss on the barrel and sideplate, and minor thinning on the straps. The grips are sharply checkered and in great shape aside from the common chip under the safety. The front strap of the Luger is marked ‘O.3415’, denoting it was sent to the Ostmark base. Gun is in the proper serial range for this variation, and appears fully original and correct. Only knock on this one is that the bore wasn’t well cared for, and does have some freckling throughout.
