11/7/19 – This is an original 1943 production P.38 pistol made by Mauser. The pistol has very nice finish and is all matching and correct. There’s some light finish loss on the pistol, mostly on the front strap. There’s also edge wear on the slide and some thinning near the muzzle / barrel. Overall rates at about 92-94%. Oddly, the serial numbers are filled with red paint, see photos. We didn’t try to remove this, but it could be removed if desired. The bore is excellent with minimal signs of use.
