6/25/19 – From Tom’s personal collection, this is a beautiful example of perhaps the most desirable Army variation Luger produced by Mauser. Mauser began production on the Luger in 1934, marking these pistols with ‘K’ date code over the chamber, and producing only about 10,000 such pistols. They saw heavy use, and it can be near-impossible to find all matching and correct examples in this condition. This pistol retains 96-97% original blue, with minor edge thinning in all the common places. The small parts retain 80-90% of the original straw. All matching numbers, including the original grips. The magazine is an original with rare B90 proof, but is numbered to a different Luger. It is a little bit of a tight fit in the pistol but not a major issue. The bore shows minor frost throughout but strong rifling and no pitting. The grips have no chips or cracks, but the right panel does show some smoothing near the top.
