1/15/19 – This is an original scarce variation 1941 hardshell P.38 holster. The back of the holster is “cgu” maker stamped with one of the FAINTEST ’41 date stamps I’ve seen. You can see the faintest of outlines of the “41” just under the maker stamp and above the belt loop. We know this has to be either a 41 or 42 stamp, as “cgu” only made holsters in 1941 and 1942. The stamp is so faint it can only be somewhat seen in the proper lighting. There’s also a waffen WaA920 military proof. The lid has some surface cracking, and one significant crack in the corner towards the back – shown in photos. There’s a few small exterior scuffs as well. The stitching is all in tact and original, and the interior leather is fairly clean. Guaranteed original.
