12/6/18 – This is an extremely rare Persian presentation Walther PP, made in 1940 with matching numbered magazine. It is chambered for 9mm with proper bottom release style frame and magazine. After the war, with the US pulling the Iranian government into the US sphere of influence, this gun with grip plaques was presented to Captain FS Gibson. He was heading up a clandestine team of US advisors who were helping to modernize the Iranian Army. The gun is pictured in Jim Rankin’s Walther Book on page 45 of volume II. A copy of the write-up is included, as is the original document declaring the issue of this pistol to Captain Gibson. The original high-polish blue is gorgeous and rates at 97-98% with minor edge and handling wear. Terrific bore.
